Publishing a site

Publishing puts a project on the web at its own address. Visitors load it directly, so it stays up while your workspace is asleep.

Publish

Press Publish in the preview’s toolbar. A message gives you the address; the site is live within a minute or two. The button is grayed out while your workspace is starting.

The address is <project>--<account>.tabkit.live. It stays the same whoever on your account publishes, and every time you publish again.

Change a live site

Edits don’t reach the live site until you publish again, so you can work on changes without visitors seeing them half-done. Press Publish when you are ready and the new version replaces the old one.

Who can see a site

Open the project’s settings and choose under Who can see this site:

choicewho gets in
Private (the default)only you and the people on your account
Anyone with the linkeveryone; the site is public
Specific peoplepeople on your account, plus the email addresses and whole domains you list

Changes to who can see a site take effect at once, without publishing again.

A visitor to a private or specific-people site signs in with Google or with a code sent to their email. Someone who isn’t on the list is told they aren’t allowed in. People on your account are always let in. Visitors you list are not given a seat and can’t see your workspace. TabulaKit doesn’t email them, so send them the address yourself.

Take a site down

In the project’s settings, Unpublish takes the site offline. The project and everything in it stay in your workspace, and you can publish it again later.

Your own domain

Sites are published on tabkit.live. Using your own domain isn’t available on Standard or Pro.
